One of our favourite aspects of NetEnt is that there’s always something to look forward to. Last week may have seen the launch of one of the biggest and most anticipated NetEnt titles of the year – Planet of the Apes – but we already have our site set on the next release. That will unfortunately be the last of 2017 for the developer, but it’s a great one!
The game is Finn and the Swirly Spin and unlike last week’s release or the two leading up to it (Blood Suckers 2 Touch and Emojiplanet), this mobile slot will be like nothing you’ve seen before. At the start of September, we got our first glimpse of Finn and the Swirly Spin, but now we know the exact release date of the slot and have a few more details available about what to expect.
We have to wait until November 23rd (exactly a month after the Planet of the Apes release) to get our hands on the new title, but seeing as it’ll have to see us though till January, we reckon we can deal with a little anticipation!
About Finn And The Swirly Spin
When the title of this game was first announced as part of the Q4 roadmap last month, it really had everyone scratching their heads. It seemed pretty apparent that the eponymous ‘Swirly Spin’ would be a special and unique feature of the game we’d never seen before, but it wasn’t until further details of the slot were released this week that we finally found out what that really meant.
Instead of featuring your standard reels which spin from top to bottom, Finn and the Swirly Spin throws everything you think you know about slots up in the air, with a spiral pattern for reels. When you spin, symbols fly in from the outside corner of the game and spin round in a spiral until they get to the centre position. Though the payline layout is still 4×5 like on a regular slot, the method for spinning is totally different.
Other basic info includes the fact that the game has a relatively high return to player rate of 96.61% and accepts wagers from 10p all the way up to £100. It also has an Irish theme with a leprechaun host and horseshoes, golden acorns and shamrocks all making up some of the six paying symbols.
Despite already impressing us with a hugely unique reel layout, Finn and the Swirly Spin is also awash with bonus features that are sure to take the game into overdrive. Not only does the game come replete with four different extra spins features, it also has four unique random features, each of which is triggered when all the main symbols settle on the reels at the same time.
There are the Starfall Wilds, where at least two wilds are added to the reels, with more added until you win. Then there’s the Dragon Destroy, where a random number of symbols are destroyed, triggering an avalanche of new symbols to possibly get you a bigger win. You might also get the Irish Luck feature, where one line is transformed to a single symbols for a guaranteed win. And finally, there’s the Magic Transform, where all spade and heart symbols are transformed into a higher value symbol.
With all these extras on offer in the game, it’s little wonder that NetEnt saved this slot until the end of the year. The annual Christmas period tends to be the most popular time for people to play online and mobile casinos, and in making the bold choice to release a non-Christmas related game, no doubt players will be turning in their thousands to NetEnt’s Finn and the Swirly Spin in the hopes of getting a break from all the festive themed games.
Look out for Finn and the Swirly Spin coming 23rd November 2017 to your favourite online and mobile casinos!
